Enterprise Technology Services

The Enterprise Technology Services organization partners with every part of the American Express business to power the company’s growth and innovation with trust and efficiency, and drive competitive differentiation with speed. We support the delivery and operations of technology, digital, and data capabilities, platforms, and services globally. Specifically, our team is responsible for the company’s technology engineering, architecture, and infrastructure, providing 24x7 support to ensure an uninterrupted, high-quality experience for customers and colleagues. We also provide product management for core enterprise platforms, and lead technology risk and information security, enterprise data governance and platforms, digital product and design, and enterprise AI platforms on behalf of the company.

As an Analyst, SEO & AI Search Optimization, you will play a critical role in advancing American Express’ visibility in this new landscape. You will help ensure our content is not only indexed—but also interpreted, trusted, and surfaced in AI-generated responses.

This role blends technical SEO, structured data, and AI-ready content optimization. You will partner across product, engineering, marketing, and analytics teams to improve how American Express content performs across both search engines and large language models (LLMs).

This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and help shape how one of the world’s most trusted brands shows up in the future of search.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • SEO & AEO Strategy - Support enterprise SEO and AEO initiatives across traditional and AI-driven search platforms
  • Support and lead the SEO and AEO strategy for International markets – support the execution of the international markets, by owning one or several markets, including the relationship with local stakeholders
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with cross-functional teams to improve discoverability and representation of Amex content
  • Technical SEO Foundations - Support crawlability, indexation, and rendering improvements
  • Structured Data & Performance - Assist with structured data implementation such as schema.org and JSON-LD and support site performance optimization
  • AI Search Optimization - Help optimize content for AI-generated answers including structure, clarity, and intent alignment
  • AI Visibility & Gaps Analysis - Identify gaps in how Amex content is surfaced or interpreted across AI platforms
  • Performance Measurement - Track search performance and emerging AI metrics such as visibility, citations, and accuracy
  • Insights & Optimization - Identify trends and opportunities to improve search performance
  • Execution & Delivery - Partner with product, engineering, content, and agency teams to implement best practices
  • Education & Enablement - Support documentation and education of SEO and AEO standards across teams

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of SEO experience (agency or in-house; enterprise/global experience a plus)
  • Familiarity with SEO tools (e.g., Conductor, SEMrush, Google Search Console, Adobe Analytics, etc.)
  • Advanced technical SEO understanding and web architecture (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Exposure to or interest in using Generative AI to enhance SEO workflows
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)
