Nickleby Capital is a dynamic investment firm working with a broad network of investors and innovative growth-stage businesses. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an ambitious individual to join our team.
About the role
We’re looking for a driven and proactive individual to join our small team. This is a varied role spanning origination, operations and marketing, with the opportunity to get involved across different parts of the business. This is a great opportunity for someone hungry to build a career in the investment world. You’ll work closely with the partners, gain exposure to founders across venture capital and private equity, institutional investors and businesses, and learn how an investment firm operates from the inside. For someone ambitious who takes initiative, there will be plenty of opportunity to take on more responsibility and grow with the firm over time.
What you’ll be doing

- Building and maintaining relationships with these contacts and helping develop new sources of investment opportunities

- Helping with marketing and email campaigns
- Keeping marketing collateral, spreadsheets, trackers up to date

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
