Overview
NBCCM is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of National Bank of Canada (“NBC”). The main strategic purpose of NBCCM is to enable the NBC Group (“NBC Group,” meaning National Bank of Canada and all its subsidiaries) to grow and diversify its presence in Europe, Asia & MENA, while allowing for the natural development of its existing business relationships and the establishment of new ones in global markets.
NBC has over 150 years of history and is currently the sixth-largest Canadian bank. Through its branch and subsidiary network, NBC can service clients throughout North America, Europe, Asia & MENA. NBC’s strategy is to further develop NBCCM as its hub for trading and financial services in Europe.
We are looking for a highly analytical and proactive Analyst/Associate to join our Financial Resource Management team in London. This role sits at the heart of our Capital Markets activities, supporting the optimisation of structures and processes under capital, liquidity, regulatory and operational tax constraints. The role will support senior experts with international operational tax matters, including withholding tax, corporate actions, financial transaction taxes, capital gains taxes, tax reclaims and related tax documentation across multiple jurisdictions and custodians.
About the Role
Join a high-impact team in Capital Markets where financial strategy meets innovation. As an Analyst or Associate in the Financial Resource Management team, you’ll play a key role in optimizing Capital Markets structures and processes under capital, liquidity, regulatory, and operational tax constraints. This role bridges the gap between trading desks, operations, and external resource requirements, ensuring efficiency and compliance across the board.
You support the team's senior experts in optimizing withholding tax processes related to dividends, corporate actions, financial transaction taxes (FTT), and capital gains taxes, as well as tax reclaim activities and tax documentation associated with our operations across multiple international jurisdictions and with our custodians.

You’ll work closely with Global Finance and Global Equity business lines, as well as Wealth Management areas when needed. Collaboration with the Corporate Tax Advisory team and international offices will be central to your success.
What You’ll Do
- Map and maintain tax documentation requirements with the National Bank Group’s custodians, sub-custodians, and triparty agents.
- Assess tax documentation requirements and actively collaborate on the onboarding of new jurisdictions with custodians, sub-custodians, triparty agents, and, where applicable, within bilateral relationship arrangements.
- As required, identify and mitigate operational tax risks related to processes such as withholding tax, financial transaction taxes (FTT), stamp duties, capital gains taxes, and the associated reporting obligations.
- Act as a subject matter expert in international operational tax for the New Products and Activities team, Operations, and selected business sectors.
- Actively participate in business and regulatory initiatives.
Your Team
The Financial Resource Management team partners closely with Capital Markets traders and Business Heads to advise on optimal allocation of financial resources. The team oversees business development and evaluates capital, liquidity, regulatory, and tax operations processes for efficiency. It also leads critical regulatory projects impacting Capital Markets and, when needed, Wealth Management.
You will report to the Managing Director, Financial Resource Management. The team values collaboration, agility, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.
What You Bring
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, finance, tax or a related field.
- Experience in capital markets, custody, or tax operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships across Financial Markets, Wealth Management and with external partners.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL) or willingness to learn.
- Experience with regulatory or tax reporting tools.
- French language fluency.
