You will combine hands-on experimentation with scientific interpretation, working collaboratively with colleagues at Speke and across Elanco's global network.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimise analytical methods supporting biopharmaceutical and vaccine process development, including HPLC, ELISA, UV and CE-SDS techniques.
- Plan, execute and evaluate laboratory studies through hands-on experimentation, using scientific knowledge and data interpretation to support project decisions.
- Provide analytical expertise across development laboratory and pilot plant projects at Speke and, where required, across Elanco's global network.
- Interpret analytical data, identify potential Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs), product/process-related impurities and stability requirements, and translate findings into appropriate development strategies.
- Plan and execute analytical method validations and fit-for-purpose studies to meet project requirements.
- Communicate project progress and scientific findings effectively to technical teams and global stakeholders and produce high-quality, peer-reviewed technical documentation.
- Ensure activities are conducted in compliance with applicable safety, quality and Good Research Practice requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and scientific innovation, including collaboration with external organisations and supporting analytical method technology transfers when required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
