We have deployed a global template to two sites and we are well on our way to our final pioneer site. We are now going to accelerate our delivery across multiple locations globally. So, we are shifting from a design & build phase, to one of accelerated industrialised deployment.
We are now looking for an Analytics Deployment Lead on an 18 month secondment / Fixed Term Contract
Introduction to the role
You will know you have succeeded when users adopt our new SAP analytics immediately and enthusiastically, with the transition from existing ways of working to the new tools feeling easy.
You will be a core member of the Axial Analytics Leadership Team, working with the Head of Analytics. The role offers exposure to the business across AstraZeneca, the opportunity to deepen your understanding of how AZ operates and the chance to become a trusted partner to senior leaders as we deliver. You will gain first-hand experience of deploying technology and business transformation globally.
You will hold accountability for the successful deployment, adoption and stabilisation of AZ’s SAP analytics. Initially focused on sites and entities supporting the UK business, you will drive delivery of the new SAP analytics suite across multiple locations. You will minimise deviation from our template, while supporting essential local requirements.

You will work closely with Axial Deployment Leads; the Change Communications and Training Team; Global IT Business Technology Groups (BTGs) and local site technology leads to coordinate activities across programme workstreams and phases. You will also own post-hypercare activities for sites we’ve already deployed to.
You will be a highly motivated, credible communicator and leader with significant knowledge of Finance or Operations in a large pharmaceutical company, together with a strong appreciation of analytics delivery. You would enjoy the opportunity to transform AstraZeneca’s analytics.
Accountabilities
- Identify, plan and deliver Axial’s analytics deliverables.
- Drive successful adoption of Axial’s analytics deliverables.
- Integrate interim analytics states into delivery plans & ensure they are understood by users.
- Work with wider Axial teams to ensure appropriate technology, change, communications and training deliverables support analytics.
- Oversee analytics cutover activities.
- Manage the analytics hypercare period and support transition into service.
- Work with Analytics Governance to ensure compliance with legislation and AZ policies across geographies.
- Improve delivery approaches across Axial by applying lessons learned from deployments.
- Act as an advocate for end users of Axial’s analytics deliverables.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Significant technology or transformation delivery experience at Director or Senior Director level.
- A solid understanding of analytics for Finance or pharmaceutical Operations including how analytics supports business strategy, operational processes, controls and performance management.
- Experience building and delivering complex plans.
- Experience working in a global pharmaceutical company or regulated industry.
- Experience presenting and influencing at executive level driving decisions across complex global environments.
- Experience delivering in a sophisticated technology landscape.
- Experience leading third-party suppliers.
- Experience supporting delivery teams through ongoing improvement.
- Ability to build networks across a global business and affect change.
- Proven track record delivering organisational change, business readiness and user adoption for analytics transformations.

Desirable Skills & Experience
- A background in analytics related to ERP systems.
- Experience managing a large analytics portfolio.
- An understanding of large-scale change management and communications approaches.
