Analytics Engineer | Remote (UK) 6-Month Contract | Up to £650/day I/IR35 d.o.e

We're working exclusively with a high-growth fintech seeking multiple Mid and Senior Analytics Engineers on a 6 month minimum contractual basis.

The role sits across analytics engineering, data modelling and data quality, with a focus on modernising the analytics layer and adapting models to significant changes in underlying data sources and tooling.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and improving existing data models, identifying areas that need rebuilding or restructuring
  • Developing reliable models from CRM and other business data sources
  • Translating business metrics into consistent, reusable definitions
  • Managing the downstream impact of source-system and schema changes
  • Putting appropriate testing, monitoring and freshness checks around critical data
  • Improving how data is structured and exposed for analysts and other data consumers
  • Working closely with data engineers, analysts and business stakeholders
  • Leaving clear documentation and maintainable models for the permanent team

We're looking for someone with:

  • Strong hands-on dbt experience
  • Advanced SQL and solid BigQuery experience
  • Experience building analytics models from CRM data, with a good understanding of entities, relationships and schema changes
  • Practical experience with metrics/semantic modelling and maintaining consistency across reporting
  • Experience developing analytics code through Git and CI/CD
  • A strong instinct for data quality and the ability to investigate and resolve problems at source
  • The communication skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams

Additional experience that would be useful:

Looker or similar BI tooling, Omni, Python, Airflow or another orchestration platform, and exposure to subscription/revenue data.

Tech: GCP | BigQuery | dbt | SQL | CRM data | Git | CI/CD | Airflow
