Analytics Engineer
£70,000 - £80,000
South East London/Kent (3 Days per Week Onsite)
Role and responsibilities:
- Design, build, test, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines from raw source systems to business-ready analytical datasets.
- Build clean, tested, documented, and modular data transformation pipelines using dbt and Google BigQuery.
- Write and maintain clean, scalable Python scripts to extract data from third-party APIs, handle custom ingestion, and orchestrate workflows.
- Build intuitive reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards in Data Studio / Metabase to empower commercial, product, and marketing teams.
- Serve as a bridge between software engineers, product managers, and commercial stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
- Proactively identify data discrepancies, performance bottlenecks, and architectural improvements to keep our data platform resilient and scalable.

Requirements:

- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), in particular BigQuery, Cloud Run, DataSteam.
- Proficiency in dbt (data build tool), including testing, documentation, and dimensional/modular modeling.
- Solid Python skills for data extraction, automation, and pipeline orchestration.
- Experience designing reporting models and dashboards in Looker / Data Studio / Metabase.
- Advanced SQL skills (window functions, query optimization, cost management in BigQuery)
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced scale-up, e-commerce, subscription, or consumer-facing business is a plus.
