Analytics / Data Engineer (Alteryx) | 6 Month Contract | Fully Remote | Outside IR35 | Immediate Start

KDR are working with a global consumer products business looking for an experienced Analytics / Data Engineer to join their data function on an initial 6-month contract.

This is an opportunity to come into an established data environment, understand what has been built and help improve the foundations that sit underneath the business's analytics and reporting.

The immediate focus is on reviewing the existing data warehouse and transformation processes, improving data integrity and accuracy, and identifying opportunities to replace manual processes with more robust and automated solutions. The current environment uses Alteryx extensively for ETL and transformation, with Qlik sitting across the BI and reporting layer.

What you’ll do

  • Review the Data Environment: Get under the hood of the existing data warehouse, pipelines and transformation processes to understand what's working, what isn't and where improvements are needed.
  • Rebuild the Foundations: Improve and, where required, rebuild elements of the existing data warehouse and underlying data foundations.
  • Improve Data Quality: Identify issues affecting data integrity, accuracy and reliability and put more robust engineering practices in place.
  • Develop ETL Processes: Work extensively with Alteryx and SQL to improve how data is transformed, integrated and delivered across the business.
  • Automate Manual Work: Identify manual or inefficient processes and replace them with scalable, automated data workflows.
  • Help Shape What Comes Next: Provide a clear technical view of the existing environment and help the business understand what should be retained, improved or changed as they consider their longer-term data architecture.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Nice to have:

  • Qlik / Qlik Sense experience would be useful but is not essential
  • Experience working across a mixture of cloud and on-premise data environments
  • FMCG, retail or wider consumer business experience
  • Experience modernising or rebuilding an established data warehouse

Why this one is interesting

This isn't a BAU engineering contract where you're joining to maintain an established platform. The business is using this interim period to properly understand the strengths and weaknesses of its current data environment and determine what the future should look like.

You'll have the opportunity to make tangible improvements to the data foundations, automate existing processes and leave the business with a more reliable environment, while also influencing the longer-term technical direction of the data function.

There is already Qlik capability within the team, so the priority here is someone who can bring the deeper backend, Alteryx, SQL and data warehousing expertise.

The contract is initially for 6 months, outside IR35 and can be worked fully remotely.

Candidates must be based in the UK with full rights to work.
