Analytics Engineer (DBT, GCP, LOOKER)
Permanent Role
£70,000-£80,000 + Benefits
London - Hybrid (3 days per week)
I am currently recruiting for an Analytics Engineer to join a leading global organisation within their growing Data & Analytics function.
This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of the modelled data layer, working with dbt and BigQuery to build the data products that underpin reporting, self-service analytics and data activation across the business. You will work closely with Data Engineering, analysts and wider stakeholders, helping to evolve the data warehouse into a scalable global platform and shaping best practices around data modelling, quality and documentation.
The Role:
- Design, build and maintain staging, mart and analytics models using dbt and BigQuery
- Develop scalable data models supporting multiple regions and entities
- Build and maintain data models powering Looker / LookML
- Implement data quality through dbt testing, monitoring and alerting
- Work with Data Engineering around upstream dependencies and data contracts
- Maintain data lineage, documentation and metric definitions
- Review SQL and dbt work and help improve modelling standards
- Optimise query performance, costs and deployment workflows
- Support the use of AI / LLM tools on top of well-modelled data

What we're looking for:
- 3+ years' experience across Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering or BI Development
- Strong SQL skills with experience building production data models
- Hands-on experience with dbt, including models, tests, macros and documentation
- Strong production experience with BigQuery
- Experience using Python for data work and automation
- Experience with Airflow or Cloud Composer
- Strong understanding of dimensional data modelling
- Experience with Looker / LookML or a similar BI platform
- Good understanding of Git and modern data development practices
