Analytics Engineering Consultant

Remote (UK) | £70,000 - £90,000

Must have full UK working rights, no sponsorship offered

If you're a Analytics Engineering Consultant with strong expertise across Google Cloud, BigQuery, dbt, and Looker, this is an opportunity to join a specialist data consultancy delivering high-impact analytics transformation projects. You'll work closely with clients, lead solution design, influence strategy, and help organisations build scalable, modern data capabilities using leading cloud technologies.

This growing specialist consultancy helps organisations design, build, and optimise modern analytics platforms. They partner with clients across a range of industries, delivering projects focused on analytics engineering, data modelling, self-service analytics, governance, and AI-enabled insights.

The Role

As a Analytics Engineering Consultant, you will lead client engagements from discovery through to delivery, combining hands-on technical expertise with stakeholder management and consulting skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and delivering analytics solutions using Google Cloud, BigQuery, dbt, and Looker
  • Building scalable data models, semantic layers, and analytics architectures
  • Leading client workshops, requirements gathering sessions, and technical discussions
  • Advising stakeholders on analytics strategy, governance, and best practice
  • Managing multiple client projects and balancing competing priorities
  • Translating complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Supporting self-service analytics and modern data platform initiatives
  • Identifying opportunities for account growth, project extensions, and renewals
  • Mentoring consultants and contributing to internal best practices and innovation initiatives
  • Supporting the adoption of AI-driven analytics solutions and emerging technologies

Your Skills & Experience

You will bring:

  • Strong commercial experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Strong hands-on experience with BigQuery, dbt, and Looker
  • Previous consulting or client-facing delivery experience
  • Excellent SQL and data modelling skills
  • Experience working with Git, version control, and CI/CD practices
  • The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and stakeholder groups
  • Experience leading technical conversations and influencing decision-making
  • A proactive, ownership-led approach to problem solving and delivery
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Google Cloud Data Engineer Certificate would be beneficial
