What you'll do
As the Commercial Analytics Manager at Sainsbury's, you will lead a team of analysts in delivering strategic insights, tools, and recommendations that directly impact decision-making by senior leaders across the organisation. You will own the analytics roadmap for your domain, working closely with stakeholders to translate complex business questions into actionable solutions that drive measurable value. Your role will involve building and enhancing analytical products, developing new data products and solutions using statistical analyses and machine learning, and championing best practises to ensure transparent, extensible, and lasting solutions. Your ability to connect analysis to business value, lead a high-performing team, and drive commercial outcomes through data-driven insights will be key to your success in this role.

Essential Criteria
- Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing analytics teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate data and insight into business value.
- Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders and shaping decision-making.
- Ability to solve complex, ambiguous business problems and turn them into actionable analytics roadmaps.
- Excellent data storytelling and communication skills, tailoring insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong hands-on SQL skills.
- Strong hands-on Python skills.
- Practical experience applying statistics, experimentation/test-and-learn and machine learning techniques.
- Experience building analytical products, tools or data solutions that drive business outcomes.
- Experience applying AI, LLMs or machine learning solutions to real-world commercial challenges.
