The Role: Analytics Manager
Purpose
To lead, develop, and inspire a multi‑disciplinary team of analysts and data scientists to deliver high‑quality analytics and advanced data science solutions.
The role exists to champion the creation of robust, explainable, and scalable models and insights that support evidence‑based decision making across the organisation. By converting complex data into clear, actionable intelligence, the Analytics Manager ensures the business is equipped to anticipate trends, optimise performance, and deliver measurable strategic value.
Accountabilities
- Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders across the business to define analytical requirements, set priorities, and translate complex findings into clear, well-structured recommendations.
- Oversee the development of predictive, prescriptive, and machine learning models (including CNNs, computer vision, and advanced statistical methods), translating business challenges into structured analytical delivery plans.
- Ensure analytical solutions are robust, validated, well documented, and aligned to business needs across the full model lifecycle, from hypothesis through to deployment and monitoring.
- Ensure insights, dashboards, and models are accurate, timely, and clearly communicated to technical and non-technical audiences, and drive adoption of self-service analytics tools across the business.
- Ensure analytics products and models comply with ABP’s data governance, data quality, and metadata standards as set by the Data Governance function, maintaining appropriate documentation of assumptions, limitations, and monitoring requirements.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and ethical AI standards across all analytical outputs, including model transparency and auditability.
- Shape the analytics roadmap in support of ABP’s wider data strategy, identifying opportunities to automate processes, optimise performance, and introduce new analytical techniques or toolsets.
- Evaluate emerging analytics technologies and methods, including generative AI and large language models, ensuring the analytics team remains modern and future ready.
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to ensure effective adoption of analytical products and measurable outcomes.
- Balance delivery of quick-win insights with longer-term data science initiatives, in line with agreed team priorities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
