Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail-ready cuts for butchers' counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers, and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.
We are currently recruiting for Ancillary Operatives to work in our busy manufacturing site in Merthyr Tydfil.

This is a full-time, permanent position working either a 5.30 am or 6.00 am start with a flexible finish time depending on the production requirements. With an hourly rate starting at £12.90 per hour.
Role Purpose
Work in slaughtering, performing precision functions involving the preparation of meat. Work may include specialized slaughtering tasks, trimming offal to required specs, and dressing animals to required spec.
Role Requirements
- Cut, trim, skin, sort, and wash viscera of slaughtered animals to separate edible portions from offal
- Clean materials to prepare them for production
- Process animal carcasses
- Eviscerate and trim carcasses of slaughtered animals
- Trim, clean, or cure animal hides
- Skin sections of animals or whole animals
- Remove offal and prep ready for further processing
- Prepare meat products for sale or consumption
- Dress carcasses to correct spec
- Remove feet, ears, and horns
- Complete general tasks within the abattoir

Requirements
- Being able to work in an area with raw meat and blood
- Being able to work standing in a cold environment
- Have a good work ethic
- Be able to work within a team environment and on your own initiative
