Job Description

Location: Andras House Ltd, Andras House, 60 Great Victoria Street

What is the Job?

Reporting to the IT Manager this position will be assisting the IT Manager in providing support to business units in all matters relating to information technology and operational systems, including but not limited to: network management, technical support, systems integration, audio/visual systems and any other relevant activities including following Brand Standards. We will provide training and development opportunities to enable you to fulfil this role.

About The Role

Your day to day

  • Assists all hotels and business units in all technology matters
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary. This includes, but not limited to, network equipment, computers, printers, phones, and key control devices.
  • Assist the IT Manager in planning, coordinating, and implementing network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware
  • Installing and maintaining hardware and components, including cabling
  • Troubleshoots network connectivity for property systems
  • Ensures that all policies and procedures in the operation are followed in accordance with the set procedures
  • Plans and sets targets for problem resolutions.
  • Searches for areas for improvement in existing systems and procedures with new software and hardware.
  • Reviews requests for new hardware and software with the IT Manager
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain email applications and virus protection software
  • Maintain records related to network functions, as well as maintenance repair records
  • Support hotel properties with guest wi-fi, franchise network support, guest TV support, and Point of Sale support if applicable (POS & PMS)
  • Assist the IT manager in supporting security camera systems, cloud services, audio/visual systems
  • Always keep work environment clean
  • Attends training courses to consistently update/maintain technical competency for the systems used in the business
  • Ensures confidentiality in all matters related to the work activity

Required Criteria

  • Demonstrates a passion for technology and a willingness to learn new skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Further education qualifications in IT
  • Experience in networking infrastructure, TCP/IP Protocols, and physical cabling
  • Experience in Windows 11 & servers with active directory. Installation of new servers and administration
  • Experience with VPN Connectivity
  • Experience in maintain network and workstation hardware and software
  • Experience in troubleshooting WIFI networks

Desired Criteria

  • Degree in IT and/or Certification in Level 6 NVQ in IT
  • Experience in Microsoft Intune/Azure administration
  • Experience in Microsoft Company Portal
  • Experience in handling and configuration of routers and switches
  • Experience in VM ware / Hyper V systems
