About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Android Developer to join our dynamic Mobile team. This role is based in London or Manchester, with a hybrid working model requiring two days in the office per week. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and enhancing high-traffic Android applications that serve over 20 million users monthly. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to deliver innovative features that improve user experience and engagement. This position offers an exciting opportunity to impact millions of lives by creating reliable, scalable, and user-centric mobile solutions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Android application development, with proven experience in building and maintaining complex apps. Expertise in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose is essential, along with a solid understanding of Android architecture components and design patterns. Candidates should have experience working within Agile methodologies and demonstrate a collaborative approach to problem-solving. A passion for writing high-quality, maintainable code and an interest in leveraging AI tools to enhance development workflows are highly desirable. Relevant educational qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement new features for Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
  • Take ownership of technical decisions, contributing to the long-term architecture and platform strategy.
  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Implement modern engineering practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  • Collaborate with designers to create intuitive and polished user interfaces that meet brand standards and user expectations.
  • Mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the team.
  • Engage in code reviews, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues promptly to ensure app stability and performance.
  • Stay updated with the latest Android development trends, tools, and technologies, and incorporate them into the development process.
