Android Engineer
Location: London – 3 days per week onsite

We are currently recruiting for 6 Android Engineers to join a high-profile mobile engineering team working on applications used by tens of millions of customers globally.
This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced engineering environment where you will work alongside Product Owners, Designers, QA, and other Engineers to develop and improve mobile applications at significant scale.
The Role
As an Android Engineer, you will be responsible for developing new features, improving existing applications, and solving complex technical challenges.
You will work within a small, collaborative engineering team and have the opportunity to contribute ideas and help shape technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Build, develop, and maintain Android applications
- Develop and deliver new mobile features
- Work closely with Product Owners, Designers, QA, and other Engineers
- Investigate and resolve bugs and technical issues
- Analyse and optimise application performance
- Work with both modern and legacy codebases
- Develop unit and integration tests
- Contribute to CI/CD and modern software development practices
- Design solutions to open-ended technical problems
- Work effectively within a globally distributed engineering environment
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience developing Android applications
- Strong Kotlin experience
- Experience with Jetpack Compose
- Experience with MVI architecture
- Kotlin Coroutines and Flow
- Experience working with REST APIs
- Experience with OkHttp
- Experience with Gradle
- GitHub Actions and/or CircleCI
- Strong understanding of CI/CD
- Experience with JUnit and Espresso
- Unit and integration testing experience
- Experience identifying and resolving performance issues
- Comfortable working with legacy code
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
