About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Android App Developer to join our client's dynamic Mobile Team in a remote capacity. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the Android version of a flagship retail application. Your work will directly impact the customer experience, ensuring that the app is not only visually stunning but also highly performant, secure, and aligned with the brand's luxury standards. As part of an Agile, cross-functional team, you will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and backend developers to deliver innovative features and enhancements that elevate the user experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge mobile technologies, contribute to strategic product development, and influence the digital footprint of a leading retailer.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with proven experience in Android development. Essential qualifications include proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDKs, with a comprehensive understanding of Jetpack libraries, Compose, and modern Android architecture components. Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMM, KMP) is highly desirable. Candidates should have a solid grasp of RESTful APIs, JSON, and mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture. Familiarity with Android Studio, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and the Play Store deployment process is required. Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality Android applications within Agile environments, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively, are key attributes. Additionally, experience translating Figma or Sketch designs into pixel-perfect implementations, working with analytics platforms like Firebase, crash reporting tools such as Crashlytics, and understanding mobile security and GDPR compliance are important. Candidates should also be familiar with backlog management tools like Azure DevOps or Jira, and Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Android App Developer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining the Android application to meet high standards of quality and performance.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate UI/UX designs into functional, pixel-perfect mobile experiences, ensuring adherence to branding and luxury standards.
- Implementing scalable and maintainable code following clean architecture principles.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes and best practices.
- Monitoring app performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing bug fixes.
- Integrating third-party services such as analytics, crash reporting, and user feedback tools to enhance the app's capabilities.
- Participating in code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and actively engaging in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Ensuring the app complies with security standards, GDPR regulations, and accessibility guidelines, fostering a secure and inclusive user experience.
