Android Software Developer
We're working with an established technology company that's looking to hire an experienced Android Software Developer to join its engineering team. This is an opportunity to work on mobile applications that are deployed globally, supporting products used across a range of commercial industries.
The Role
You'll be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining high-quality Android applications, while supporting existing products and ensuring applications remain compliant with Google Play and Google Mobile Services requirements. Working alongside software engineers and cross-functional teams, you'll help deliver scalable, reliable mobile solutions throughout the full software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and maintain Android applications
- Build scalable, high-performance and user-friendly mobile features
- Develop using Kotlin and/or Java with Android Studio, Gradle and the Android SDK
- Collaborate with engineering teams and key stakeholders
- Participate in code reviews and technical planning
- Improve application performance, maintainability and security
- Manage application releases through Google Play Console
- Ensure applications comply with Google Play policies, API requirements, privacy standards and release guidelines
- Investigate and resolve production issues, app store submission problems and release-related defects
- Stay up to date with Android platform changes, Google APIs, Firebase services and mobile development best practices

Requirements
- At least 3 years' commercial Android development experience
- Strong experience with Kotlin and/or Java
- Experience publishing and maintaining applications on the Google Play Store
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
