About the role
As a Backend Engineer, you will:
- Develop and maintain JavaScript code for new features and performance optimisation.
- Contribute to improving performance and caching as our platform continues to scale.
- Build maintainable, reusable, and reliable code.
- Work with our AWS infrastructure to ensure high performance, monitoring, and alerting.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver excellent user experiences.
- Be an active member of our flat-structured development team, contributing to technical and product strategy discussions.
- Implement software development best practices, including testing and code reviews.
About you
- Commercial experience with JavaScript, including ES6/7 features.
- Experience with Node.js and related frameworks (e.g., Express, Sequelize).
- Experience working with relational databases and NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of web design patterns.
- Experience working in a collaborative, agile team environment.

Interview process
Our interview process contains the following stages:
- Initial Screen with Talent Team - 30 minutes
- System Design Interview - 60 minutes
- Technical Task - 60 minutes
- Final Interview - 60 minutes
You can expect to hear back from us within 2-3 business days of each interview stage. You'll have the opportunity to speak with a talent partner throughout the interview process should you have any questions or need any type of accommodations.
