About The Role
We are seeking a talented Android Developer to join our core Android team at Just Eat. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and enhancing our mobile applications that serve millions of users worldwide. Your responsibilities will span the entire software development lifecycle, from collaborating with product managers and UX designers to discussing solutions and implementing features. You will have the opportunity to influence the architecture and technical direction of our Android applications, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and aligned with industry best practices. Additionally, you will contribute to configuring our continuous integration systems, improving our development processes, and ensuring reliable app releases across the Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery. This position offers a dynamic environment where your technical expertise and innovative ideas can significantly impact our user experience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Android development with a focus on modern practices. Key qualifications include proficiency in Kotlin and experience with Jetpack Compose for building responsive and intuitive user interfaces. A solid understanding of Android architecture patterns such as MVI and MVVM is essential, along with the ability to develop reusable, efficient, and maintainable software components. Experience with integrating server-side APIs within a microservices architecture is highly desirable. Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools to automate testing and deployment pipelines is also important. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for continuous learning and improvement in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications that meet business and user requirements.
- Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following industry standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring code quality and security.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs and performance issues promptly to ensure smooth app operation.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to deliver features and enhancements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipelines, automating testing and deployment processes for reliable releases.
- Stay updated with the latest Android development trends and incorporate new tools and techniques into the development process.
