About The Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the core Android development team at Just Eat. As an Android Developer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality mobile applications that serve millions of users globally. Your responsibilities will encompass working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, and other engineers, to deliver innovative features and enhancements. You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle—from conceptual discussions and architecture design to implementation, testing, and deployment. Additionally, this role provides opportunities to influence our development processes, optimize our CI/CD pipelines, and ensure the reliable release of apps across Google Play and Huawei app stores. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience and operational efficiency of our mobile platforms, shaping the future of our digital services and advancing your career in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a strong background in Android development and a passion for creating scalable, efficient software solutions. Proficiency in Kotlin is essential, along with experience using Jetpack Compose for modern UI development. Familiarity with Android architecture patterns such as MVI and MVVM is required to build maintainable and reusable components. Candidates should have practical experience integrating with server-side APIs within a Microservices architecture, as well as a solid understanding of testing methodologies, including unit and integration testing. Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools is also important for automating testing and deployment processes. A collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team are crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust Android applications that meet business and user requirements.
  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following best practices and coding standards to ensure software quality and performance.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and incorporating suggestions to improve code quality.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance issues promptly to ensure a smooth user experience.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, integration, and deployment processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices to continuously enhance the development process and application quality.
