About The Role

We are seeking a talented Android Developer to join our core Android team at Just Eat. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our mobile applications, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and user-friendly. Your responsibilities will encompass designing new features, enhancing existing functionalities, and contributing to the overall architecture of our Android apps. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and UX designers, to translate requirements into high-quality solutions. Additionally, you will play a vital role in configuring our continuous integration systems, streamlining deployment processes, and ensuring our applications are reliably released to the Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery.

This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the entire software development lifecycle, from initial concept discussions to deployment and post-release support. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and experience in Android development. Key qualifications include:

  • Proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Solid understanding of Android architecture patterns such as MVI and MVVM.
  • Experience with integrating and testing server-side APIs within a microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices, tools, and automation pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • A keen eye for clean and maintainable code.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Candidates with a background in developing reusable, efficient software components and experience with unit and integration testing will be highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications that meet business and user requirements.
  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and incorporating feedback into your work.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects promptly to ensure smooth app operation.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to define requirements and develop innovative solutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, integration, and deployment processes.
  • Assist in defining and driving the architecture of our Android applications to ensure scalability and maintainability.
  • Engage in technical discussions, knowledge sharing, and community activities within the engineering team.
