About The Role

We are seeking a talented Android Developer to join our core Android team at Just Eat. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and enhancing our mobile applications to ensure a smooth and engaging user experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, and fellow engineers, to deliver innovative features and improvements. Your responsibilities will span the entire software development lifecycle, from designing new functionalities to debugging and deploying updates. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to influence architectural decisions, optimize our continuous integration and deployment pipelines, and contribute to the overall technical strategy of our Android applications. This position offers a dynamic environment where your contributions will directly impact millions of users worldwide and help shape the future of our digital platform.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Android development with a strong portfolio of published applications.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin and familiarity with Jetpack Compose for modern UI development.
  • Solid understanding of Android architecture patterns such as MVI and MVVM, with the ability to develop reusable and efficient components.
  • Experience with integrating Android applications with server-side APIs within a Microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks for unit and integration testing to ensure application robustness.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices and tools to automate testing, building, and deployment processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and resolve software defects promptly.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and team members.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for learning and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications that meet business and user requirements.
  • Write clean, scalable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and incorporate suggestions to improve code quality.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve bugs and performance issues to ensure smooth app operation.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into functional features.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate innovative solutions into the development process.
  • Assist in architectural decisions and contribute to the overall technical strategy of the Android platform.
