About The Role
We are seeking a talented Android Engineer to join our dynamic mobile development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our Android banking application, ensuring it remains intuitive, secure, and feature-rich. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver high-quality features that enhance the customer experience. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Android development with proficiency in Kotlin and Java. Experience with modern Android architecture components such as MVVM, Jetpack Compose, and Material Design is essential. Familiarity with asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow, as well as dependency injection frameworks like Dagger 2 and Hilt, is highly desirable. Candidates should have a solid understanding of mobile security best practices, accessibility standards, and testing methodologies including Espresso and JUnit. Prior experience working on financial or banking applications, along with a passion for creating user-friendly and accessible interfaces, will be considered an advantage. We value individuals who are self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
As an Android Engineer at Starling Bank, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing new features and improving existing functionalities of our Android banking app
- Collaborating with product teams to understand requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and implement them with a focus on security, performance, and accessibility
- Maintaining high standards of code quality through rigorous testing, code reviews, and documentation
- Participating in the entire software development lifecycle, from design and development to deployment and maintenance, ensuring timely delivery of features
- Working closely with QA engineers to conduct manual and automated testing, identify and resolve bugs, and optimize app performance
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes, adopting new technologies, and sharing best practices with the team to foster a culture of innovation and excellence
