About The Role
We are seeking a talented Android Engineer to join our dynamic development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mobile applications used by cardholders across the globe. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating beautiful, efficient, and user-friendly applications, with a strong focus on user experience and code quality. You will collaborate closely with designers, product owners, QA teams, and fellow engineers in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Your primary goal will be to enhance existing features and develop new functionalities that meet high standards of performance, security, and reliability. This position offers the opportunity to work within a Fortune 100 company’s stability while enjoying the agility of a smaller team, fostering rapid development cycles and creative problem-solving.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience. Proficiency in Java and Kotlin is essential, with hands-on experience developing Android applications. Familiarity with modern Android development tools and frameworks such as Jetpack Compose, MVI architecture, and REST APIs is required. Candidates should have practical knowledge of build tools like Gradle, GitHub Actions, and Circle CI, along with experience implementing continuous integration patterns. Strong debugging skills, performance analysis, and optimization capabilities are necessary, as well as the ability to deal with legacy codebases. Experience with asynchronous programming using Coroutines, RxJava, and Flow, along with knowledge of unit and integration testing frameworks like Espresso and JUnit, is highly desirable. Additionally, familiarity with open-source contributions, working in globally distributed teams, and integrating with bespoke backend services will be advantageous.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications using Java and Kotlin.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, QA, and other engineers to define and implement new features.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure application stability and performance.
- Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and continuously improve code quality.
- Identify and troubleshoot bugs, performance bottlenecks, and other issues, providing timely solutions.
- Optimize application performance through profiling and tuning, ensuring a smooth user experience.
- Work with backend teams to integrate APIs and other services, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to bring innovative solutions to the team.
- Contribute to the design of scalable and maintainable software architecture for mobile applications.
