Android Engineer | Remote-First | £80,000
I'm working with a leading digital product agency that specialises in designing, building and optimising digital products for some of the world's best-known brands. They deliver websites, mobile applications and commerce solutions for ambitious organisations investing in growth and digital transformation.
In this role, you'll help develop and enhance native Android applications, delivering high-quality, scalable solutions within a collaborative engineering team. You'll contribute to technical decisions, solve complex engineering challenges and ensure applications are built to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
- Deliver clean, scalable and maintainable code.
- Integrate APIs and third-party libraries.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and improve application performance.
- Contribute to technical design, testing and code reviews.
- Support CI/CD processes and help reduce technical debt.
- Collaborate with the wider team to deliver project requirements.

Technical Requirements:
- Strong experience with Kotlin and Java for native Android development.
- Knowledge of MVVM and Clean Architecture.
- Experience with Android Jetpack, including ViewModel, LiveData and Room.
- Familiarity with Retrofit, OkHttp and REST APIs.
- Experience with Git, unit testing and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of libraries and tools such as Dagger 2, RxJava, JUnit, Mockito and Firebase.
- Experience with ExoPlayer or video streaming technologies would be beneficial.
