About The Role
Olo is seeking a highly skilled Android Engineer to be an integral part of our mobile engineering team. This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere within Northern Ireland, supporting our mission to deliver outstanding mobile experiences for restaurant partners and their guests. As an Android Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing the Android version of the Olo app. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to create seamless, reliable, and user-friendly mobile applications. Your expertise in Kotlin and mobile development best practices will be vital in building features that meet high standards of quality and performance. This role provides an exciting opportunity to influence the future of restaurant technology and to work on innovative projects that impact millions of users worldwide.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in Android development with a strong portfolio of published applications.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and Java programming languages.
- Solid understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and best practices.
- Experience with Android SDK, RESTful APIs, and third-party libraries and integrations.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems such as Git, and automated testing frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to project management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory with relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain the Android version of the Olo app, ensuring high performance, reliability, and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features and improvements.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to team knowledge sharing, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated tests to ensure app quality.
- Assist in the deployment process, including integration with CI/CD pipelines and app store submissions.
- Monitor app performance and troubleshoot issues, implementing fixes and optimizations as needed.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to continually enhance the app’s capabilities.
