Salary: AP08 £29,897 - £35,619 per annum (pro rata £17,980.06 – £21,421.27)
Hours: 22.25 hours per week
We are looking for an Animal Care Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching across Animal Care programmes, helping learners develop the practical skills, knowledge, and professional behaviours needed for further study and careers in the animal care sector. The role involves creating engaging learning experiences, supporting work placements, and contributing to curriculum development, enrichment activities, and employer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across a range of classes, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for all students.
- Prepare and adapt teaching materials to meet learner needs, monitor progress through ongoing formative assessment, and provide timely feedback while maintaining accurate records.
- Conduct formal assessments, providing both written and verbal feedback, and track student achievement and development.
- Undertake Internal Verification activities in line with awarding body and College requirements.
- Provide academic tutorial support, offering guidance and assistance to students facing academic challenges.
- Organise and participate in enrichment activities, including educational visits, social events, and other learner-focused opportunities.
- Attend and contribute to departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and College-wide training and development activities.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams, employers, industry partners, and other external stakeholders.
- Complete all associated administrative tasks accurately, efficiently, and within required timescales.

What You Will Need
- Level 2 qualification (GCSE grade A – C or equivalent) in English and Maths or willing to work towards within 2 years
- Minimum Level 3 qualification or equivalent related subject
- An endorsed Teaching qualification or willing to work towards within 3 years
