Are you passionate about animal management and ready to inspire the next generation of industry professionals?
We're looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lecturer in Animal Management to join our Lifestyle faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to teach across a range of Level 1 to Level 3 Animal Management programmes, helping students develop the practical skills, scientific knowledge and confidence they need to progress into higher education or careers within the animal care sector.
Whether you're an experienced lecturer or an industry professional looking to move into teaching, we'll support you to build a rewarding career in Further Education while making a real difference to our learners.
What you'll do:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across Level 1-3 Animal Management programmes.
- Plan, prepare and assess learning that motivates students to achieve their full potential.
- Undertake course leadership responsibilities, supporting the effective delivery of programmes.
- Act as a personal tutor, guiding and supporting students throughout their learning journey.
- Develop innovative teaching resources that reflect current industry practice.
- Support practical learning within laboratories and animal management environments.
- Build strong relationships with local and national employers to enhance employability opportunities for students.
- Organise and support educational visits, enrichment activities and employer engagement.
- Monitor learner progress and implement timely interventions to support achievement.
- Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement and departmental initiatives.

What we're looking for:
- A Level 3 qualification in Animal Management or a related subject.
- A recognised Level 5 teaching qualification, or a willingness to achieve one.
- Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent), or a commitment to achieving these within an agreed timeframe.
- Industry knowledge and experience within the animal management sector.
- Strong practical science laboratory skills, knowledge of animal nutrition, or experience as an animal therapist would be highly desirable.
- Experience of teaching, training or mentoring others.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for inspiring learners and helping them achieve their ambitions.
- A collaborative approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and outstanding student outcomes.
