Battersea Animal Support Coordinator
At Battersea, we aim never to turn away a dog or cat in need of our help, and we are committed to ensuring that every dog and cat receives the highest standard of care.
We are hiring two part-time Animal Support Coordinators to support dogs and cats in need of direct care when our centres are closed to the public. In some cases, these roles will coordinate the intake of a dog or cat into Battersea’s care.
The Animal Support Coordinators will also focus on supporting the smooth running of Battersea’ core operational service, including stock replenishment, cleaning operational areas, and administrative responsibilities.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Practical experience handling unfamiliar dogs and cats, displaying a range of behaviours and temperaments, including high levels of stress.
- Confidence and motivation to work independently.
- Strong organisational, record-keeping and attention-to-detail skills
- Experience delivering excellent customer service, ideally with experience supporting challenging customers or individuals in crisis.
- Confidence following procedures and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Basic IT skills and the ability to work independently.
We have two positions available:
- 28 hours per week (Sunday to Wednesday, 4:00PM to 11:30PM)
- 21 hours per week (Thursday to Saturday, 4:00PM to 11:30PM)
Please note, whilst these roles take place outside of core operating hours for Battersea, the successful applicants will need to attend our London site during core working hours (9:00AM-5:00PM) to complete a training programme over the course of two weeks, with regular onsite training as required. The details of this will be confirmed with the successful applicants.

Working with our rescues is a very rewarding experience. Your work plays a vital role in giving our dogs and cats a chance at finding their forever home. Everyday will be different and will come with its own unique challenges. We are looking for people with the resilience and adaptability to handle all aspects of this role. It is important to note that the role does involve a lot of physical tasks which are required to provide the exceptional standards of care to our animals.
