Are you passionate about reptile care and ready to lead a team that does it brilliantly?

Peregrine Livefoods is one of the UK's leading wholesalers of live feeder insects, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and animal supplies. We hold a 5-star Animal Activity Licence rating, and we work hard as a team to keep it. We're looking for an Animal Department Team Leader who shares our high welfare standards and can help a small team deliver them every day.

The Role

You'll lead the day-to-day running of our animal department, working hands-on alongside a small amazing team. You'll make sure every animal in our care is healthy and well kept, and that every animal we send to customers is top quality.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading, instructing, and guiding a small team to deliver excellent husbandry and welfare, every day
  • Keeping our welfare standards at 5-star AAL level: feeding, handling, cleaning, enclosure set-up, heating and UV checks, and accurate room records
  • Following advice from our vet and making sure the team does too
  • Running the daily rota and covering the department on Sundays
  • Overseeing picking and packing so only healthy, top-quality animals go out to our customers, and orders leave on time
  • Answering customer and office queries
  • Supporting the Animal Manager with shipments, including import permits, health certificates, IPAFFS and PEACHES, and booking in new stock
  • Helping our Greenhouse department when needed
  • Training, coaching, and supporting your team's development, and carrying out department health and safety checks

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
