Glasgow Film Festival: Animatic

Animatic, now in its fourth year, is an innovative talent development lab for Scottish-based creative teams and studios, designed to help develop animated films and TV shows.

Partnering with leading animation and screen industry organisations, participants will engage in an intensive programme of workshops to refine their projects. The lab will culminate in a Live Pitch at GFF27's Industry Focus, where participants will present their projects to an expert panel.

For its fourth edition, Animatic will have two strands: Features and Series. Each strand will offer a tailored programme of workshops and consultations, focused on developing the project’s story, building a finance plan and getting it pitch-ready for GFF27.

Following the Live Pitch, the panelists will choose their favourite pitches, with the following awards. These awards will be for the winning project to put towards the project’s further development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Additionally, thanks to support from The Bridge Awards, participants from Animatic will be in the running for an award of £1,750. One participant will be selected who has shown the most commitment to the programme and who will benefit from an award to help further their careers. The winner will be selected by the Glasgow Film Festival team.

The introductory two-day workshops, as well as the pitching weekend and Live Pitch, will be held in person. All other sessions will take place online. To ensure that the lab is accessible, we have budget available to cover childcare and other accessibility needs.
