About the role

This is a new role within our team. As an Animation Supervisor, you'll look after the overall animation quality. You'll guide the creative vision, ensuring every sequence stays perfectly on brief. We expect you to cast the right animators for the right moments, bringing out the best and most consistent performances from your team.

As a creative leader on this project, you'll train and mentor a talented team of animators, taking full ownership of the quality of their work. You'll partner closely with our rigging and pipeline departments to improve character setups and tool functionality.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll also:

  • Set clear visual benchmarks and provide strong examples for your team to follow.
  • Collaborate with the Animation Lead to craft compelling, character-driven moments.
  • Lead daily reviews with the animation team and confidently attend client reviews.
  • Communicate ongoing progress to production and ensure we consistently hit all show milestones.

Requirements

  • A thorough, working knowledge of Maya.
  • A brilliant eye for physical motion, weight, balance, texture, and form.
  • A solid understanding of typical rigging setups, animation pipelines, and data transfer.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a creative team.
  • A genuine commitment to collaborating openly across different departments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Great organisational and communication skills, with the ability to hit deadlines reliably.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technical processes.

You might also have

  • Previous experience working with motion capture data.
  • A working knowledge of Modelling or basic scripting (Python/MEL) to streamline workflows.
