About Ladybird
Ladybird is a research-led AI company based in Manchester. We build and study how intelligent systems operate in real-world, high-trust environments — particularly healthcare. Our first product, inCall, is an AI-powered telephony platform built for NHS GP practices.
We are building a YouTube educational series to make AI and digital systems understandable to non-technical audiences - including NHS staff, patients, students, and the general public. Think TED-Ed style explainers on topics like how a machine learns, what automation means in healthcare, and why AI systems work the way they do.
Our tagline is Move Me. Every piece of content we produce should leave the viewer feeling something: clearer, more curious, more capable.
The Role
We are looking for a freelance animator to join us on a monthly retainer to produce one animated educational video per month as part of the Ladybird AI Educational Series.
The series already has a branded intro and outro (10 seconds each) which will be reused across every episode, meaning the new animation required per video sits at under 1 minute 30 seconds of original content per month.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
