About the Role
Maintain effective databases for Antenatal and Newborn Screening ensuring that working procedures relating to Data protection are adhered too. Ensure accurate records are maintained and provide statistical information to the Antenatal & Newborn Screening Coordinator on a regular and ad hoc basis.
Use own initiative to identify deviations from expected pathways, taking actions to prevent screening incidents where possible and escalating issues to Antenatal & Newborn Screening Specialist Midwives / Matrons / Consultants as necessary. Use own initiative to identify missing antenatal appointments (specifically 20 week fetal anomaly scan appointments) and rectify in conjunction with the administrative team.
Ensure that all patients eligible for antenatal and newborn screening are invited during the required screening timeframe. Ensure all patients who do not attend are managed and referred to the correct pathway for onward management. Monitor the Newborn screening process to ensure all babies are screened within required timeframe and escalate non-compliance. Input and maintain audit trails to demonstrate compliance with required Failsafe measures.
Responsible for the quality of the data and will participate in regular data cleansing exercises and liaising with staff from other organisations involved in the programme. Responsible for the designing, improvement, maintenance and monitoring of failsafe administration procedures. In conjunction with the wider screening team, the post holder will ensure that the antenatal and newborn screening programmes are continually developed and delivered in accordance with the Failsafe requirements outlined by Public Health England.

Experience and Skills
- Experience of delivering high-quality administration service and highly skilled with a variety of IT systems.
- Experience in using complex and specialist databases.
- Continually audit the performance of the programme against national and local standards, in line with governance arrangements, extract data and assist with writing reports as necessary.
- Design, create and compile specialist reports using Microsoft Excel in a format compliant with UK National Screening Committee Key Performance Indicators.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of information for the purpose of reporting, discussing and presenting antenatal and newborn screening data to internal/external parties.
- Actively participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and Programme Board meetings as required.
