Transaction Monitoring Analyst | Financial Services | Initial 3 Month Contract (likely to extend) £250 - £285 per day, Inside IR35. Onsite working in Newcastle
IGA are currently working with a consulting firm supporting a Financial Services client on a Transaction Monitoring programme.
Role Purpose
The Transaction Monitoring Investigator is responsible for reviewing and investigating alerts generated by the Bank's transaction monitoring systems to identify potential money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, sanctions evasion, or other financial crime risks. The role involves conducting detailed investigations, documenting findings, making risk-based decisions, and escalating suspicious activity in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk appetite.

Key responsibilities
- Review and investigate transaction monitoring alerts generated across consumer banking products and services.
- Analyse customer transactional activity, behaviour patterns, account activity, payment flows, and related customer information.
- Determine whether activity is consistent with the customer's known profile and expected behaviour.
- Conduct Level 1 and Level 2 investigations as appropriate.

Experience Required
- Experience in AML, Financial Crime, Fraud, Transaction Monitoring, KYC, EDD, Compliance, or Investigations.
- Understanding of transaction monitoring processes and alert investigation methodologies.
- Knowledge of UK financial crime regulations and industry expectations.
