MLRO Position at High-Growth UK Fintech/Payments Business

We’re partnering with a high-growth UK fintech/payments business to appoint an experienced MLRO to lead its financial crime framework and play a key role in its next phase of growth.

This is a senior, hands-on opportunity reporting directly into the CEO and Board, with significant influence across the business and responsibility for ensuring the organisation maintains a robust, scalable and commercially practical financial crime environment.

Role Focus

The role will focus on:

  • Owning and developing the firm’s AML/CTF and financial crime framework
  • Providing independent oversight, challenge and escalation of financial crime risk
  • Leading the financial crime risk assessment, risk appetite and associated MI/KRIs
  • Overseeing KYC/KYB, CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring and sanctions frameworks
  • Ensuring effective identification, investigation and reporting of SARs
  • Developing the annual MLRO plan and wider financial crime strategy
  • Providing regular reporting and challenge to senior management and the Board
  • Acting as a key point of contact for the FCA and supporting regulatory enquiries/reviews
  • Working closely with Product, Technology, Operations, Risk and Commercial teams to embed effective controls
  • Providing financial crime input into new products, markets, payment corridors and international expansion
  • Playing a significant role in the company’s UK EMI authorisation programme

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
