Anticipated Hall Monitor position available at the Middle School
Position: Hall Monitor
Effective Date: November 9, 2026
Hours: 6:45-2:45pm
Job Summary
Supervises hallway activities and entrance/exit areas to assure the well-being and safety of students and staff in non-classroom activities; assures student compliance with school and District rules, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Applicable experience and/or training, preferred
- Compliance with Employment Eligibility through Criminal History Records, Pre-Employment Drug Testing, and Physical Examination/TB Test Standard
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications (willing to obtain if not possessed)
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency to operate a computer, assigned software, and other equipment as required
- Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with students, staff, and the public
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Primary Job Functions
- Supervises assigned areas, ensuring students are safe, orderly, and within supervised areas
- Assures students arrive to class in a timely manner
- Enforces school rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Responds to student conflicts and fights in a timely manner
- Initiates student discipline referrals, as necessary
- Checks students for proper hall pass, identification cards, and proper attire; reports violations to the appropriate building administrator
- Communicates with students, staff, and administrators concerning inappropriate student behavior at assigned activities
- Reports incidents involving students, staff, and the public to school administrators
- Reports unusual, suspicious, or criminal activities to a building administrator, security officer, or school police officer
- Operates Raptor visitor scanning system
- Implements appropriate safety and security action within clearly defined guidelines
- Reports hazardous or dangerous situations on school property to school administrators
- Supports in the enforcement of district and building emergency procedures, including fire drills and visitors on property
- Checks identification of all visitors
- Administers basic first aid, if necessary
- Escorts and directs authorized visitors to desired destinations
- Assures non-students, who are on campus, are authorized visitors
- Escorts students to and from administration offices, nurse's office, or other building locations, as necessary
- Maintains regular and timely attendance

Term of Employment
- Seven and one-half (7.50) hours per day
- Total number of days students are in attendance
- Hourly rate of pay and limited benefits per the ESPA Collective Bargaining Agreement
