Anticipated Maintenance II Position
This position is from 2pm - 10:30pm.
Title: Maintenance II
Reports to: Supervisor of Facilities or Designee
Job Summary
Responsible for the operational efficiency of the building and grounds of the District.
Qualifications
- Possesses High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Assures compliance with Employment Eligibility, Criminal History Record, Pre-Employment Drug Testing, and Physical Examination/TB Test Standard
- Possesses strong oral and written communication skills
- Possesses interpersonal skills including tact, patience, and courtesy
- Possesses ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Exercises courtesy and good judgment in dealing with staff, students, parents, and the public
- Possesses experience in diversified maintenance and custodial duties required
- Possesses a valid driver's license; acceptable ten-year driving history; must maintain an acceptable driving record throughout employment
- Possesses Pesticides Certification Category 23, preferred and/or willing to obtain within six (6) months of commencing employment; willing to maintain such certification throughout employment
Primary Job Functions
The position holder must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. It is the responsibility of the employee to inform the NASD of any and all reasonable accommodations that will be required.
- Changes light bulbs
- Delivers maintenance, custodial, and educational supplies to district staff
- Performs preventive maintenance on all components of the buildings in the district
- Sets up and dismantles rooms, tables, chairs, etc., for events, activities, and meetings in the buildings, as assigned
- Possesses ability to operate various types of vehicles (automatic, manual transmission, etc.)
- Operates equipment to properly maintain the building and grounds including grass trimming, mowing, field line painting, and snow removal
- Assures ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to and exceeding 50 feet
- Possesses ability to read and follow directions in order to properly mix chemicals
- Possesses ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Possesses ability to operate equipment provided by the district to properly maintain the building and grounds including grass trimming, mowing, field line painting, and snow removal
- Removes snow and ice from sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots; pulls weeds and trims hedges and bushes, and cuts grass
- Possesses ability to lay out and line sports fields
- Paints district facilities, as scheduled
- Collects garbage and recycling from district buildings via truck
- Completes assigned work orders; maintains work record of completed tasks
- Maintains regular and timely attendance

Secondary Job Functions
- Provides pick-up and delivery services
- Provides assistance to Maintenance Personnel in completion of tasks or projects
- Attends meetings and training as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned

Terms Of Employment
Eight (8) hours per day, forty (40) hours per week; Hourly rate of pay and benefits in accordance with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
