AP Accountant

As an AP Accountant, you will support the day-to-day Accounts Payable function, ensuring invoices, payments, supplier records, and employee expenses are processed accurately and efficiently. Working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, you'll help maintain strong financial controls and support the smooth operation of a global finance team.

Description

  • Review and process invoices, ensuring accuracy, appropriate approvals, and timely payment.
  • Review employee expense claims and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Manage supplier onboarding and maintenance, validating supplier information and banking details.
  • Support payment runs and investigate payment queries, exceptions, and discrepancies.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and allocate direct debit payments accurately.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, providing a high level of service.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and financial procedures.
  • Assist with reporting, reconciliations, and ad-hoc finance projects as required.

Profile

A successful AP Accountant must have:

  • 3+ years' experience in Accounts Payable preferred.
  • A strong understanding of accounts payable processes and basic accounting principles.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using finance systems and technology.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
