Accounts Payable Specialist (2 Positions Available)

Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow (Hybrid, 2 days onsite)
Contract: 1 x 6-Month FTC & 1 x 9-Month FTC
Salary: £34,000 - £39,000 + Excellent Benefits

Our client, a highly successful international organisation undergoing significant growth and transformation across its finance operations, is looking to appoint two Accounts Payable Specialists on fixed-term contracts.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced AP professionals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and want to play a key role in both day-to-day operations and ongoing finance transformation initiatives.

The Opportunity

Working within a global finance function, you will support the end-to-end accounts payable process while contributing to process improvements, automation projects and wider finance transformation activity.

You will act as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with company controls and procedures.

Alongside operational responsibilities, you'll have the opportunity to help improve systems, workflows and purchase-to-pay processes across the wider finance function.

Essential Requirements

We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Full end-to-end accounts payable experience
  • Experience processing foreign currency payments (e.g. USD, YEN, HKD and other international currencies)
  • Experience working within a high-volume transactional environment
  • Exposure to multi-currency transactions and international supplier bases
  • Understanding of VAT and varying tax requirements across different jurisdictions
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • The confidence to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within a large or complex organisation
  • Exposure to finance transformation or ERP implementation projects
  • Knowledge of Workday or similar ERP systems
  • Interest in automation, AI tools and continuous improvement initiatives
