Accounts Payable Supervisor - 6 Month FTC

Reading | Office Based

£40,000 - £50,000 + Benefits

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join a well-established organisation on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

Due to the requirement, candidates will need to be available at short notice.

Accounts Payable Supervisor - 6 Month FTC

Aldermaston - Office Based

£40,000 - £50,000 + Benefits

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join a well-established organisation on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for a sizeable transactional finance team, ensuring the AP function operates efficiently, accurately and to a high standard. Alongside managing the day-to-day workload, you will help strengthen processes, improve controls and support wider improvements across the purchase-to-pay cycle.

Due to the requirement, candidates will need to be available at short notice.

Accounts Payable Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Accounts Payable team
  • Organise team activity to ensure workloads and deadlines are achieved
  • Hands on invoice processing and payments
  • Review and approve payment activity across both UK and international suppliers
  • Ensure supplier accounts are kept accurate and investigate differences
  • Handle supplier and internal finance queries where escalation is required
  • Work with stakeholders to improve the flow of invoices and approvals
  • Assist with period-end activity relating to Accounts Payable and purchase ledger
  • Monitor team performance and provide relevant reporting to support
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency
  • Help maintain effective approval controls across purchasing and payment

Accounts Payable Supervisor Requirements

  • Strong background within Accounts Payable
  • Previous experience leading and developing a transactional finance team
  • Good understanding of the full purchase-to-pay lifecycle
  • Experience improving AP processes, controls or ways of working
  • Confident managing payment runs, reconciliations and control accounts
  • Strong systems capability
  • Good Excel skills, including lookups and PivotTables
  • Comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders and suppliers
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confident problem-solver who can deal with issues independently
  • Must be available to start at short notice
