About the Role

BAE Systems Geospatial eXploitation Products (GXP) delivers advanced geospatial intelligence, imagery exploitation and ISR solutions to defence, intelligence and government customers worldwide.

We are seeking a Regional Business Development Manager to drive growth across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Reporting to the Head of International Business Development & Sales, this role is responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities, expanding strategic partnerships, and delivering sustainable revenue growth.

Location: APAC, Australia, or the United Kingdom. The hiring location will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience, suitability and business requirements. Hybrid working arrangements may be available depending on location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to drive growth across APAC.
  • Identify, qualify and pursue opportunities with defence, intelligence and government customers.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of short, medium and long-term opportunities.
  • Lead opportunities through qualification, capture, proposal development, negotiation and contract award.
  • Drive direct sales engagement with defence, intelligence and government organisations, building trusted relationships with operational, procurement and senior leadership stakeholders.
  • Identify, establish and develop indirect sales channels, including system integrators, strategic partners and distributors, where these provide the most effective route to market.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, partners, integrators and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineering and Product Management functions, as well as other BAE Systems businesses to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Represent GXP at customer engagements, industry events and conferences.
  • Contribute to regional planning, forecasting and achievement of revenue and pipeline targets.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant export, security and business requirements.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 7+ years' experience in business development, sales, capture or account management within Defence, Intelligence or Government sectors.
  • Proven track record of winning and growing complex technology, software or capability-based opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of APAC defence markets and procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated experience selling directly to government, defence and intelligence customers.
  • Experience identifying, developing and managing channel partners, distributors and system integrator relationships.
  • Experience managing customer relationships across operational, commercial and executive levels.
  • Experience responding to RFIs, RFPs and tenders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently within a geographically dispersed international team.

Desirable

  • Network within Defence, Intelligence, GEOINT, IMINT, ISR or GIS communities.
  • Experience with geospatial, imagery exploitation, ISR or intelligence software solutions.
  • Knowledge of defence export controls and compliance requirements.
  • Active security clearance, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Experience supporting business development activities in other international defence markets.

Travel

This role requires regular domestic and international travel across APAC, with occasional travel to the US, Europe and the Middle East.

Travel requirement: Up to 50%.
