About The Role
Our client in the Defence industry is seeking an experienced Application Developer to join their dynamic team. This role involves designing, building, and delivering secure digital solutions within highly secure environments, ensuring that all applications adhere to stringent security standards. As an Application Developer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop backend solutions using programming languages such as Rust, Python, or Go. You will leverage Docker for containerization, enabling scalable and portable application deployment, and implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline software delivery processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application development, particularly in environments requiring high security and rapid requirement changes.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in application development within secure environments, preferably in Defence or related sectors.
- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Rust, Python, or Go.
- Hands-on experience with Docker for containerization and orchestration.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools to facilitate continuous deployment.
- Experience building applications using Kotlin Jetpack Compose.
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly GIT.
- Track record of developing PoC (Proof of Concept) applications to adapt quickly to changing requirements.
- Understanding of security protocols and best practices in application development.
- Eligible for SC Clearance and a sole British national.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure backend applications using Rust, Python, or Go, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Utilize Docker for containerization to create scalable and portable solutions.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, integration, and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, QA, and product management to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Create PoC applications rapidly to demonstrate feasibility and adapt to evolving project needs.
- Develop user interfaces using Kotlin Jetpack Compose to enhance application usability.
- Maintain version control using GIT, ensuring code integrity and collaboration efficiency.
- Participate in security assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards and client security policies.
- Document development processes, architecture, and code to facilitate knowledge sharing and future maintenance.
