💡 About the Role
As a Java Developer, you will contribute to the refactoring and modernization of key applications for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Working closely with client stakeholders and a large programme delivery team, you'll help design, develop, enhance, and migrate business-critical systems while ensuring high standards of quality and performance. This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects that make a real difference to millions of users.

🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications
- Support application refactoring and modernization initiatives
- Collaborate with client teams, architects, and developers across the programme
- Build and migrate application components to modern platforms
- Perform code reviews and contribute to technical assurance activities
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance application performance

🎯 Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Framework
- Solid knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases
- Experience using GitLab for source control and CI/CD practices
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively within Agile delivery teams
