Our client is a leading Investment Management firm based in the City of London, looking for an Application Developer to join their dedicated AI squad on a permanent basis.
This is a rare opportunity for an early-career developer to work on production-grade software at the cutting edge of AI, building real applications that drive business impact across a well-established financial services organisation. You'll be embedded in a collaborative team alongside experienced software engineers, data scientists and data engineers, with genuine support to grow your skills in a fast-moving environment.

The Role
You'll work across the full development lifecycle of designing, building and testing features while getting hands-on with Generative AI, LLMs, agentic AI and prompt engineering. This isn't an ML research role; it's about building and shipping AI-powered applications that solve real problems in a regulated, production environment.
Requirements
- Up to 2 years' commercial software development experience
- Degree (2:1 or above) in Computer Science, AI, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field from a strong university
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C#
- Practical understanding of LLMs, RAG, Generative AI or prompt engineering
- SQL knowledge and familiarity with REST APIs
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Snowflake
- Evidence of building and deploying software - APIs, services or backends

Desirable
- Exposure to CI/CD, Docker or version control (Git)
- Experience working in agile delivery teams
- Personal projects, hackathons or open-source contributions demonstrating self-driven learning
- Any exposure to finance or regulated industries
