Job Title: Application Packaging Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced Application Packaging Engineer to join a specialist engineering team delivering the technical discovery, packaging and deployment of applications across enterprise endpoints. You’ll work hands-on with Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) to ensure reliable, secure, repeatable application delivery at scale.

This is a technical role where practical capability will be assessed during interview.

What you’ll be doing

• Application packaging: Create and maintain packages using Master Packager (MSI), Microsoft App‑V Sequencer, PowerShell, and PSADT (PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit).
• Legacy repackaging: Modernise older applications for deployment via Intune and environments such as Windows 365.
• Deployment & testing: Deploy and validate applications using Intune, SCCM, and Citrix in live-like test environments.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve deployment failures, co-existence issues, and application conflicts.
• Endpoint security remediation: Resolve packaging/deployment impact from controls such as Windows Defender ASR and AppLocker.
• Discovery documentation: Produce clear technical discovery outputs to support packaging and deployment activities.
• Quality assurance: Peer review and test colleagues’ work as part of a Packaging QA (PQA) process.
• Engineering discipline: Investigate issues in systems/processes/services; produce detailed designs and document work using agreed standards and tooling; contribute to integrations and interface testing as part of a wider team.
