Application Engineer - AssetWise
Location - Home-based, London, UK
Position Summary:
Are you ready to start a new journey with a team of energized professionals advancing and connecting the world’s infrastructure?
Bentley is looking for an Application Engineer to provide pre-sales technical leadership for Bentley AssetWise solutions. Reporting to Solution Engineering Management, you will support key accounts and prospects in improving asset information management, asset performance, and operational decision-making across the infrastructure lifecycle.
The Solution Engineering team partners with sales to position Bentley solutions with global infrastructure organizations. As an Application Engineer focused on AssetWise, you will lead technical discovery, translate operational and asset-management requirements into solution architectures, prepare representative content and datasets, and deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations. You will position Bentley products against customer needs, coordinate with Account Management and Product Management, and help grow annual recurring revenue and product usage.
Responsibilities:
- Promote Bentley solutions to infrastructure audiences.
- Create and lead delivery of presentations and demos showcasing Bentley applications.
- Prepare datasets for user presentations and demos.
- Lead and/or support Discovery sessions, as required, define solution requirements that deliver against our accounts’ objectives.
- Support sales and marketing events.
- Contribute to solution definition and proposal responses.
- Provide feedback to Product Teams via established channels to improve products and collaborate with Product Teams on updates.
- Research proactively and understand industry standards and recommend product configurations.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitors and changes in the Bentley solutions
- Demonstrate the value of our technical solutions to designers, engineers, architects, contractors and owners, and help them achieve or exceed their business goals.
- Connect with relevant stakeholders and users in the account during engagements and gather account-specific intelligence, feedback, and insights and share with the account team for incorporation into account strategy and plans.
- Communicate consistently, clearly, and timely with account stakeholders and internal colleagues including the account team. Attend and contribute to account team meetings as required, as determined by the account team.
- Support sales opportunities and account planning, execute the Bentley Sales Process, and use Salesforce to document key activities.
- Ensure a smooth transition to Services engagements through knowledge sharing.
- Foster a culture of “One Bentley” and collaborating with internal stakeholders in a manner that benefits our accounts.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in asset intensive infrastructure operations and maintenance environments such as Transportation, Energy, Mining, etc.
- Strong candidates will bring experience and understanding of asset information management across the full operational lifecycle, asset performance management, asset reliability and/or asset analytics.
- Knowledge of Bentley’s AssetWise solutions are preferred but knowledge of similar competitive products will also be considered.
- Working knowledge of standards such as ISO 19650 and ISO 55001.
- Strong communication, presentation, and demonstration skills.
- Ability to explain complex topics to audiences of all levels of knowledge and seniority.
- Independent judgment, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills using data to drive decisions.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new complex products.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Technical sales or pre-sales experience in the field of infrastructure engineering is preferred.
- Effectively collaborate with teams leveraging communication to define objectives and deliver focus.
- Willingness to travel mainly within Europe, Middle East and Africa.
