TEV has a history of excellence and quality in the manufacturing industry, for cutting edge design, development, and production. Based in Bradford, West Yorkshire the company operates three divisions Marstair refrigeration, Quartz chilled water fan coils, and SC-TEC industrial refrigeration.

Role Description

We are looking for a motivated and technically minded Applications Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong engineering background and an interest in applying technical knowledge to real-world customer needs. You will be reporting to the Sales and Applications Manager, playing a key part in supporting projects, providing technical solutions, and ensuring our customers receive the right equipment for their applications.

Purpose of the role

  • To provide expert selection advice for bespoke client project design requirements
  • To develop and provide a detailed technical schedule, including cost proposals utilising the company’s selection software
  • To work with Engineering in providing value engineered, compliant solutions

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements and develop technical solutions.
  • Support the selection, design, and specification of refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers.
  • Prepare technical documentation, quotations, and system proposals.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure suitability of equipment.
  • Assist project managers and engineers in delivering projects on time and to specification.
  • Contribute to product development by feeding back customer requirements and market trends.

Skills, experience, and qualifications required

  • Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Highly motivated with a proactive approach
  • Ability to learn new processes and retain knowledge
  • Customer focused with excellent communication and organisation skills
  • A Strong team player
  • Ability to work efficiently under own initiative, prioritise own workload
  • Computer literate (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint…)
