Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking an experienced and motivated Pre-sales Engineer to join our innovation efforts and support our customers in the Global High Tech (GHT).
We are seeking a candidate with a strong technical background, who is ‘hands-on’, ideally with practical field/application experience, who is self-motivated, enjoys versatility and work across different topics and projects, has a desire for collaboration and is a creative problem solver.

The Main Responsibilities Of The Role Are To
- Hands-On Solution Support: Work closely with Solution Architects to translate predefined architectures into detailed technical specifications and client-ready proposals for Designers.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare design documents, system diagrams, and compliance materials that reflect the architect’s solution blueprint.
- Training & Enablement: Deliver workshops and technical sessions to internal teams and external partners to explain solution details.
- Collaboration: Partner with product managers, R&D, and service engineers to validate feasibility and ensure smooth handover from design to delivery.
- Customer & Consultant Engagement: Support sales teams and design firms with technical presentations, demonstrations, and responses to RFPs.
- Specification Alignment: Ensure Ecolab/Nalco Water solutions are accurately represented in consultant specifications and bid documents.

Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or equivalent)
- Relevant experience in water treatment, industrial systems, or complex technical solutions
- Experience in technical roles with customer exposure (e.g. pre-sales, application engineering, technical support)
- Ability to interpret and translate solution architectures into detailed technical specifications
- Experience in preparing:
- Technical documentation
- System diagrams (e.g. P&ID, layouts)
- Compliance and regulatory documents
- Familiarity with RFP/RFQ processes and related technical responses
- Knowledge of water treatment solutions, industrial systems, or sustainability technologies
- Understanding of relevant technical standards and regulatory requirements
- Proven experience working cross-functionally with:
- Solution Architects
- Product Management
- R&D
- Service/Field Engineers
- Ability to validate technical feasibility and support the transition from design to execution
- Experience working in matrix and international environments
- Strong capability to simplify complex technical concepts into clear, customer-oriented messaging
- Capability to assemble and troubleshoot electronic systems: including, pumps, sensors, and other electro‑mechanical hardware systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of cooling technologies, cold plates, and cooling distribution units is an advantage.
- Self-starter, who is willing to learn and has a ‘hands-on’ approach
- Good communication skills; with the ability to deliver complex information in an easy-to-understand format
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Works well under pressure
- Proficiency in English (both written and verbal) required

Compensation Range
The annual total compensation range for this position is 40,200-48,240- 57,800 EUR which includes base pay and target incentive based on performance, per plan terms.
